The Final Harvest of 2025

The Final Harvest of 2025

October 23, 2025

The air is crisp, the leaves are falling, and the end of our retail season is officially here. This weekend marks your absolute last chance to visit our locations in Eden Prairie, Edina, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, and Montrose!

Last Call for Produce!

Before we enter "hibernation mode," you need to stock up on your final fall and late-summer favorites. This is your final opportunity to grab:

  • Crisp Apples: Honeycrisp, SweeTango, Haralson & SnowSweet for apple crisp
  • Hearty Winter Squash for those cozy snow day meals
  • A few last bursts of summer flavor with our red slicing tomatoes and slicing cucumbers
  • And, of course, the stars of the show: PUMPKINS!

Seriously—grab those pumpkins for carving, decorating, and baking now, because after next week, they'll be gone for the season. Don't wait!

What Happens When the Doors Close?

It’s always a little wild to flip the switch from our bustling, full-fledged operation to our quiet, winter rhythm. While the retail locations close, the work is far from over!

A Pumpkin Rush and Winter Prep

Right now, we are in the middle of our historically busiest pumpkin shipping week of the year. The forecast is calling for cold, so we’ve been hustling! We're moving as many pumpkins as possible inside our packing shed and covering the rest with tarps to protect them from a frosty fate. It’s extra work, but we’d rather be safe than sorry for our wholesale partners.

We’re also deep into our farm cleanup. This past month has been dedicated to putting the fields to bed:

  • Cleaning out the high tunnels: pulling out plants, rolling up drip lines, and removing the plastic coverings.
  • Saving the plastic: We have to wait for clear, dry, sunny days to roll up the plastic to avoid mold. This way, we can reuse it next season and keep our operation sustainable.

The Produce That Keeps Giving

Even after the last retail sale, the bounty continues. All of our apples and winter squash are safely in storage. We'll be selling these to our wholesale customers for a few more weeks, and then we’ll begin making crucial donations to local food shelves throughout the winter months, when fresh produce is needed most.

Thank You: The Heart of Our Farm

Nothing—not a single harvest or perfect apple—would be possible without our amazing staff.

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone: from our dedicated seasonal employees who come from Mexico and beyond to work the farm, to our retail staff who provide fantastic customer service day in and day out.

Farming isn't just a 9-to-5 job; it's a lifestyle. The days are long, and the work is done in all weather conditions, but it's driven by a passion to bring the highest quality, local produce to our community. With less than 2% of Americans involved in agriculture, your patronage helps us continue this fight to grow, educate, and deliver.

Thank you for your incredible support this season. We couldn't do what we do without you.

We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026!
