April's Never Ending To-Do Lists

April's Never Ending To-Do Lists

April 10, 2025

It’s that time of the season when the to-do lists start becoming a mile long and days blend into weeks. The first of the high tunnels have been covered and onions have been planted. We will soon be planting the next round of cold weather crops, including crops such as broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower that can tolerate a night or two of frost.

Sometimes It Whats in April?

As the weather begins to warm, we’ll slowly start to break the ground open again and start working the open fields for the 2025 planting season. We monitor the soil temperature daily. It’s still in the low to mid 30’s, so we have a little ways to go before we feel comfortable putting too many things in the ground. It is Minnesota after all and we know what can happen, even in April.

But Guess What? It's Gonna Be May

We’re less than a month away from our Garden Centers opening for the season and we can’t wait to welcome you back! The flowers are looking beautiful and will be ready to ship out the last week of April or the first week of May, weather dependent of course.

Starting next week, we will begin the construction of our Garden Centers. With 8 to build, we try to spread out the construction over two weeks to allow time for weather delays.

Our retail managers are busy filling out their teams for the season, making sure everyone will be ready to serve you as soon as we open. There’s a lot to get done over the next few weeks, but as always, we’re up for the challenge and we can’t wait to see you all real soon!
