October 22, 2026

The air is crisp, the leaves are falling, and the end of our retail season is just about here. This coming weekend marks the final full weekend of operation for the majority of our Farm Stand locations. Montrose and Buffalo will close their “doors” on Sunday, October 25th for the final time this season, while Eden Prairie and Edina will close their doors on Friday, October 30th and Minnetonka and Maple Grove will close on Saturday, October 31st.
Before we enter hibernation mode, make sure to stock up on all your favorite fall and late-summer finds. Whether you’re craving one last homegrown tomato, wanting to store some squash for the months to come, or still need to add that pop of color to your front porch with pumpkins or mums, we hope to welcome you in one more time this season.
Last Call for Produce!
This is your final opportunity to grab:
- Crisp Apples: Haralsons are the star of the show right now! Perfect for fall baking.
- Hearty Winter Squash for those cozy winter meals.
- A few last bursts of summer flavor with our red slicing tomatoes.
- And, of course, the stars of the show: PUMPKINS and MUMS!
Seriously, grab those pumpkins for carving, decorating, and baking now, because after next week, they'll be gone for the season. Don't wait! And if you visit us before Sunday, you’ll get to enjoy our Pumpkin Palooza and save a few dollars on that orange Jack-O'-Lantern.

What Happens When the Doors Close?
It’s always a little wild to flip the switch from the hustle and bustle of the season to our quiet, winter rhythm. While it may be six months until you see our farm stands in parking lots once again, the work on the farm is far from over.
A Pumpkin Rush and Winter Prep
Over the next week, we will ship out as many pumpkins as we can. We’ve been busy stockpiling bins and keeping the pumpkins safe from our first frost of the season last week so they look their best when they end up at a store near you.

We’re also deep into our farm cleanup. This past month has been dedicated to putting the fields to bed:
- Cleaning out the high tunnels: pulling out plants, rolling up drip lines, and removing the plastic coverings.
- Saving the plastic: We have to wait for clear, dry, sunny days to roll up the plastic to avoid mold. This way, we can reuse it next season and keep our operation sustainable.
The Produce That Keeps Giving
Even after the last retail sale, the bounty continues. While we will likely have a few apples and winter squash left after Halloween, we make sure those products don’t go to waste. We’ll be making crucial donations to local food shelves over the next 6-8 weeks, when fresh produce is needed most.
Thank You: The Heart of Our Farm
2026 was a summer like no other. Nothing, not a single harvest, order delivery, or a day at the farm stand, would have been possible without our incredible staff. Losing a loved one is never easy, but when it happens during the busiest time of the season, you learn to lean on others real fast. All of our staff stepped up to the plate to support the Untiedt family and pitched in where they could to keep operations as normal as possible. We simply would not have made it without the dedication of each one of our staff members and for that we are eternally grateful.
We want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone: from our dedicated seasonal employees who come from Mexico and beyond to work the farm, to our retail staff who provide fantastic customer service day in and day out. Each person has a different role, but we are only able to do what we do because everyone steps up to the plate and works together.
Farming isn't just a 9-to-5 job; it's a lifestyle. The days are long, and the work is done in all weather conditions, but it's driven by a passion to bring the highest quality, local produce to our community. With less than 2% of Americans involved in agriculture, your patronage helps us continue this fight to grow, educate, and deliver. In an economic time when agriculture is suffering, we thank you for choosing to spend your dollars on local produce.
Thank you for your incredible support this season. We couldn't do what we do without each one of you. We look forward to welcoming you back in the spring of 2027!
