Tomatillos

The tomatillo, or “husk tomato,” is important in authentic Mexican cooking. Tomatillos are often roasted before being combined with garlic, onion, hot chili pepper, lime juice, fresh cilantro, and salt in salsa verde, or green sauce.

Sold by the pound at farm stands. Typically available from mid July through September.

When this product is in season, it can be purchased at Untiedt's Farm Stands. We harvest by hand and deliver to our Farm Stands daily.

Availability is dependent on weather conditions and overall supply. Not all products are available on all days at all Farm Stand locations.

Remove husk before eating. Wash. Chop to desired size.

Store at room temperature with husks on, for 2 weeks. For longer-term storage, refrigerate in husks in a plastic bag.

To freeze, remove the husk and wash. Freeze whole in a Ziplock freezer bag.
