Description Description

We grow sweet peppers in a variety of colors, including green, red, yellow, orange, purple, and chocolate. They are sweeter and need to be eaten soon after purchase. Shapes and sizes vary from round to bell- shaped like green bell peppers, to elongated like Sweet Italian peppers, to banana shaped.

Did you know? Colored bell peppers are simply green peppers that were allowed to ripen to their full color change.

Sold at farm stands individually. Typically available from mid July through September.

Preparation Tips Preparation Tips

Cut in half and remove the seeds from the inside. Slice, chop or mince.

Try roasting peppers over a flame until the skin blackens. Place the pepper inside a plastic bag to cool. Then remove to slide off the skins.

Storage & Freezing Tips Storage & Freezing Tips

Refrigerate peppers unwashed in a sealed plastic bag in the crisper drawer for 1-2 weeks.

To freeze, wash and dry the peppers. Freeze whole or cut into bite-size pieces and place in Ziplock freezer bag, removing as much air as possible.
