Heirloom Tomatoes
Heirloom tomatoes aren't just vegetables, they are living history. Unlike "standard" red tomatoes, heirlooms come from seeds passed down for generations, selected for their incredible flavor, unique colors, and diverse textures.
We grow a kaleidoscope of varieties of heirloom tomatoes, from the deep purple Cherokee Purple to the giant pink Brandywine and the massive, yellow-streaked Pineapple heirlooms. They may be a little ugly in appearance, but they are definitely full of flavor.
Every color has a personality. The darker "black" and purple varieties tend to be rich and savory (umami), while the yellow and orange ones are mild, fruity, and low-acid.
Heirlooms have very thin skins (one reason they taste so good!), which makes them delicate. Carry them carefully and never stack heavy items on top of them in your market bag.
