Green Beans

Full of flavor, enjoy these hand-harvested beans while you can. We harvest our green beans by hand, so the beans stay whole, crisp, and free of bruises. As a bonus, the delicate vines aren't damaged by machines, so they can produce throughout the season! We grow and sell many varieties of string beans, including green, purple, and yellow (wax beans).

Our beans are picked daily to ensure they reach you with that signature "snap." We focus on harvesting them while they are young and slender; if they stay on the vine too long, they become "stringy" and tough.

A special summer treat, they’re delicious roasted, steamed, boiled, or even raw. They make a great addition to any meal, or they can be a meal all by themselves.

Sold at farm stands by the quart tray. Typically available from mid July through September.

Can't get enough of our green beans? You can preorder them by the half bushel or the quarter bushel and save. Yellow beans are available for bulk preorder too! Bulk produce preorders are typically available in August and September.

Wash beans immediately before preparing them. Pinch off the stem end and remove strings. Many people leave the curly "tail" on the other end for a rustic, farm-fresh look on the plate.

Cook whole or chop. These beans do not need to be shelled.

Store unwashed beans in a plastic bag in the veggie bin of your fridge for up to 1 week. Make sure there is no moisture in the bag, or the beans will mold. Rejuvenate limp beans by soaking them in ice water for 30 minutes.

To freeze, remove tips. Blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes, rinse in cold ice water for 2 minutes, drain, dry well, and pack into airtight containers.
