Grilling is a healthy way to prepare zucchini and summer squash! Retain all the flavor without adding a lot of fat.

Try adding seasonings and you have a quick and easy side for tonight’s dinner. Oregano, thyme, or a pre-made seasoning mix works well!


  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 medium zucchini
  • 1 medium summer squash
  • 1 large onion (optional)


  1. Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
  2. Cut off the stem end of the zucchini and squash, and slice into spears.
  3. Mix honey and olive oil in bowl, then toss spears in the mixture.
  4. Grill 3-5 minutes until tender.

Note: You can also cut zucchini and squash into chunks, add onion slices, mix with honey/olive oil, and put in tinfoil to grill.
